Moab- Our first camping experience

Here is Daphne riding the cow. She got on but could not get off. She was not very happy.
Playing with sand toys was a lot of fun. They learned quickly how to cover their eyes when the wind came up. They all got so dirty.
Right by camp there was a stream that went by. The kids love playing in it to cool off. Daphne thought it was great to play in the water and build with the rocks. At least they cleaned themselves off after playing in the dirt.
Here is camp from up on the hill. It was a really nice area and worked great with the horses. There was a lot to do around us which made it really nice.
Sleeping in a tent was an adventure. Daphne was not sure what to do but Ryker sure enjoyed it. He slept great it was Daphne that had a hard time. The wind did not help any. It was so loud when we were trying to sleep. I was amazed that they even slept at all. I know me and Ben didn't.

It was nice to be able to take our bikes and finally use our bike trailer somewhere other then around our neighborhood. Ben would take all the kids on rides. We left camp and went on a bike trail along the river. Daphne really enjoys riding bikes with dad.
Daphne loved climbing on all the rocks.
We had a great time in Moab. It was a fast trip but we really enjoyed it. We could have done without the wind but now we have fun stories to tell because of it. We are excited to try camping again sometime soon.

  1. soooo fun! You are way more daring than me! Last summer family suggested we go camping and I knew it would be a long night of nooooo sleep, so we nicely declined! But Moab sounds like a blast!

  2. Looks like a blast! I want to go to moab so bad and camp but you really have to do it in the spring or fall. Ben can take my kids on a ride anytime.

  3. Sounds a bit like our desert camping in Joshua Tree last year, but we also had the frigid cold to deal with and a shortage of sleeping bags...oops! But they are always GREAT stories to tell and the kids still beg to go back!
