Halloween

We went to South Jordan the day before Halloween. Here is Daphne in the pumpkin patch in her costume. If you asked her what she was for Halloween she would reply "A poodle skirt."

The cutest monkey ever!! Ryker would get stiff in his costume. He would just plop down where he was set. I love this picture of him. He is always turning his head to the side like this.

Halloween day we went with our friends the Millers and Carlsens Trick-or-Treating down Main Street in Logan. You could walk into the different businesses and they would give you candy.

It was nap time for Owen and Ryker. They were troopers.

Our family on Halloween Day. It was a lot of fun but cold walking down the street. Ryker was so tired by the time we were finished.

Halloween afternoon we went to our ward Trunk-or-Treat. It was fun for Daphne to see all the people from our ward.

We brought all our pumpkins over and me and Ryker handed out candy while Ben and Daphne went gathering candy. After we went to dinner with the Carlsens and went out to Millville to Grandma and Grandpa Farmers Trunk-or-Treat. It was a fun and busy day.

Great Grandma Farmer made our Halloween costumes this year. Daphne has loved wearing her "Poodle Skirt" Grandma made a white slip to go under her skirt but I had to end up hiding it till after Halloween. She only wanted to wear the slip and not the skirt. It was her "white pretty dress." It also took a lot of convincing not to wear it to church. Here is Ryker-Daphne-Joel with Grandma and Grandpa

Ryker loved his monkey costume too. He only cried once when we strapped that thing on him. Thanks Grandma for these awesome costumes. We love them!!

Mabey's Pumpkin Patch--
We had the great opportunity of spending most of October in my families pumpkin patch. The weather was great and the kids had SOOOO much fun. This is the patch. Here is Daphne, she is "King of the World." She would climb up and say that over and over again. Ryker would just play with the straw.

Here we are just after we loaded the wagon to take into the patch. Most of the people went out in the field with the wagons to pick their pumpkins. We planted 5 acres of pumpkins this year.

I think the kids could ride in the wagons all day. They loved the "bumpy ride."

At first they would run from one end of the field to the other. Their were so many things for them to explore.

The first wagon ride of the year. Daphne with some of her cousins. Daphne had a very traumatic experience that made it hard for her to get back on. While they were out one of the pumpkins fell off. Who knows why that was so disturbing for her but it was. We would have to do a lot of convincing to get her back on the wagon after that.

Pretending to drive the tractor. This was another favorite especially for Daphne, Jacob and Madison. We got grease on many outfits as they would make their way to the seat. They could climb on and off by themselves.

Playing on the big pile of pumpkins. I love taking pictures with the kids sitting on these big piles after we have just loaded the wagon. They were climbing all over the place.

We LOVED the weather this year. It was so nice to be able to be in the patch without big coats all the time. Here are the kids playing at dusk. They would walk around holding hands all the time.

Our play group halloween party

Our play group had a little Halloween party. It was so fun to see the kids get all dressed up. They were so excited to wear their costumes. Here is the best picture we could get. Dillon-Daphne-Spencer-Wyatt

We played some really fun games. They played pin the nose on the pumpkin, Pass the pumpkin around to music and dug for toys and candy in spaghetti noodles. We also made frames and bracelets. I love celebrating the holidays.

Daphne was really getting into this. She had things she really wanted to find.

We love play group. It is so fun to get together with friends every week.

Carving Pumpkins

For the first time Daphne really got into carving pumpkins. She would watch her cousins carve and she was so excited when it was finally her turn.

Ryker loves being in the pumpkins. He was so sad when we took him out. He hung out in the pumpkin alot that night.

Of course Daphne had to get in the pumpkin too. Yes she is small enough to fit too. Who knows she might be able to fit next year too.

Ben and Daphne are working hard. We carved pumpkins at my parents house this year with the family. We love to find new patterns and spend all night carving. Anything is always an all night project with kids.

Here are the ones we did that night. Sorry the pictures are blurry but I wanted to see the carvings with the lights. I made the Cinderella pumpkin for Daphne. Ben did the ninja turtle. My sister Sarah made the witch and Natalie made Edward. We had a lot of fun.

This picture takes me back to when we were first married. We both actually carved this year. It was a lot of fun. It was a fun way to spend Ben's birthday. At least I hope it was!!
